Evaluation of quality measures for color quantization

چکیده
Visual quality evaluation is one of the challenging basic problems in image processing. It also plays a central role shaping, implementation, optimization, and testing many methods. The existing assessment methods focused on images corrupted by common degradation types while little attention was paid to color quantization. This spite there wide range applications requiring quantization being used as preprocessing step when color-based tasks are more efficiently accomplished reduced number colors. In this paper, we propose carry-out quantitative performance nine well-known commonly full-reference measures. done using two publicly available subjectively rated databases for considering suitable combinations or subparts them. results indicate measures that have closer performances terms their correlation subjective human rating show statistical significantly impacted selected database maintaining similar trend each database. detected strong similarity both individual obtained integration provides ability validate process consider an indicator other databases. experimental useful address choice improve future employment.
